Some people have asked me what is significant about the year 5768. So here are my observations with the express word of caution that i failed Prophecy 3 in Yeshiva. That's because i never took 1 or 2 either. Maybe they wasn't offered at the time?
Any time you have an even numbered year you have got to reach out to another and bind with that person.
Furthermore, anytime you have the number 8 ending the year number, it has the potential for being a monumental year. For besides the fact that the number 8 is otherworldly - beyond nature,all of the major events both the triumphs and the tragedies have taken place in the years ending with 8!
Furthermore the last 2 digits are 68 which is equivalent to the word Chayim-meaning life.Therefore this is a year of great significance in which we must strive to give life to others.
The letters samech-khess which stand for the number 68 is also an acrostic for the words Sam Chayim -literally the spice of life! This refers to the Torah ,when studied properly is called the spice of life.
It is therefore incumbent upon us to increase our love and intensity in the study of Torah,especially those areas in Torah which are called Sam Chayim commonly known as the Kabbalah.
Today there are many who wish us harm. Only through unity can we be protected. As an extra measure of protection and unity, this is the year to share the Kabbalah with our friends through the various media available,whether by direct study,or via e-mail. The main thing is that the Sam Chayim be publicized and understood by the wider audience.
As an aside,we still haven't begun to fight radical Islam on its' own turf. That is it's time to confront its' falsehoods inconsistencies and its' evil for all to see...
